Virginia NAACP Congratulates Statewide ACT-SO Gold Medalists
The NAACP Virginia State Conference extends its congratulations to the ACT-SO Gold Medalists representing the Commonwealth. Each year, high school students participate in ACT-SO competitions organized by the Area II ACT-SO, Roanoke Branch, Richmond City Branch, and Prince William County Branch. The Gold Medalists from this year will compete at the 48th National ACT-SO Competition, which will be held in Charlotte, North Carolina, from July 9 to July 13, 2025.

ACT-SO was founded in 1978 by Vernon Jarrett, an author and journalist. The program aims to recognize young people who demonstrate academic, scientific, and artistic achievements, giving them the same recognition often awarded to entertainers and athletes
