Virginia NAACP Mourns the Loss of Michelle Leete, President of the Fairfax County Branch NAACP

The Virginia State Conference NAACP (Virginia NAACP) mourns the passing of Fairfax County Branch President Michelle Leete. Virginia NAACP President Rev. Cozy Bailey shared the following statement:

“The sudden passing of President Leete has left a hole in the hearts of all those who know and love her. Her leadership in civil rights advocacy was unwavering.”

President Leete was an active member of the Fairfax County Branch and served on its Executive Committee beginning in 2013. She held the offices of Treasurer and Vice President before being elected President for the 2023-2024 term.

The Virginia NAACP extends its deepest condolences to the Leete family, members of the Fairfax County Branch, friends, colleagues, and all whose lives she touched. May her memory serve as a guiding light towards a more just and equitable society for all.
