Virginia NAACP Joins Arlington Branch NAACP In Calling for Arlington County Board To Delay Premature Civilian Review Board Ordinance Vote

RICHMOND – Virginia State Conference NAACP President Robert N. Barnette, Jr. issued the following statement in support of the Arlington Branch NAACP’s opposition to a rushed civilian review board ordinance vote:

“The Virginia NAACP strongly opposes the current civilian review board ordinance as presented by the County Manager to the Arlington County Board. We join our Arlington Branch in calling for delayed consideration until key community stakeholders can be included in the process, not just Arlington County Police Department officials.”
