SB475 ensures that the accused will have legal counsel from the beginning of the legal procedure. Legislation such as this will prove to be overwhelmingly beneficial for those who have been wrongly convicted.

This is a matter of equality, as it is with many facets of the criminal justice system. SB 475 will protect many people’s lives from being turned upside down, even those who are deemed innocent which is why we support this essential legislation.
