BALTIMORE (September 10, 2019)—On Wednesday, September 11 at 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm, the NAACP will host a town hall during the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation’s (CBCF) 49th Annual Legislative Conference (ALC). Moderated by political strategist & CNN political commentator Angela Rye, the town hall will engage African American voters in a candid conversation about critical issues facing our country as we look ahead to 2020.
The event, which will take place at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C., will bring together Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Rep. Ilhan Omar, Rep. Ayanna Pressley, and Rep. Rashida Tlaib in a rare conversation around the 2020 census, voting rights, and the upcoming presidential election. NAACP President and CEO, Derrick Johnson, and Chairman of the NAACP National Board of Directors, Leon W. Russell, will join the panel to offer remarks and comments during the hour-long conversation.
The live town hall kicks off the NAACP’s involvement at the 49th Annual Legislative Conference. For media interested in covering the NAACP’s Live Town Hall, RSVP here: Road to 2020.
