NAACP Virginia State Conference Announces the 90th Annual State Convention
The NAACP Virginia State Conference proudly announces its 90th Annual Convention, to be held in Richmond, Virginia, from Friday, October 24 to Sunday, October 26, 2025. It will focus on the theme “Honoring Our Past, Shaping Our Future”, highlighting the nine decades of unwavering commitment to civil rights, equity, and community empowerment.
NAACP Virginia State Conference President, Rev. Cozy Bailey, shared the following statement, emphasizing the importance of this year’s Convention:
“As we face unprecedented threats to our civil rights, the NAACP Virginia State Conference remains a beacon of resistance and renewal. This convention is not just a gathering—it’s a call to action.”
This year’s theme, “Honoring Our Past, Shaping Our Future” reflects both the historic significance of the NAACP’s work in Virginia and the urgent need to confront today’s challenges—from voting rights and education equity to health care disparities and housing justice.
The convention will feature:
Celebratory events honoring membership and local advocacy.
Workshops on political action, education, health care, and housing.
Town hall meetings to educate and activate the convention delegates.
Youth & College engagement to empower the next generation of leaders.
Training sessions to prepare branches for advocacy, protest, and civic mobilization.
