The NAACP released the following statement regarding Twitter’s recent actions to identify and label glaring false information on its platform:

“The NAACP is encouraged by the steps Twitter is taking to curtail the spread of misinformation and false narratives. Reliable information and dependable leadership are critical to our way of life as we continue to deal with COVID-19. We look forward to other large digital and social media platforms following the example set forth by Twitter to ensure responsible transparency, indisputable truths, and sound leadership.”
